Office Storage Tips with Office Remix

Office Organization is fundamental in providing a calm, comfortable work environment for your employees and guests. Read the below guide to learn about Office Organization and the benifits that follow:

Office Organization Tips:

1. Arrange your home office so that everything you need is within reach.

Take quick stock of all the equipment and supplies that you use many times a day - and don't forget things like the wastepaper basket. Put the wastebasket next to your desk and the printer within arm's reach of your chair. Keep a supply of printer paper and ink on a shelf behind you so you don't have to leave the office to get it - and can easily see when you're running low.

2. Strip your desktop to the bare essentials.

A cluttered desktop is an invitation to the gremlins that hide your most important papers. Your second step in getting organized - the first was re-arranging your home office - is to get everything off your desk except those things that you use every day. Those things include your computer, telephone, in-out mail bins and your current project. Everything else should have another home - and should be returned to it as soon as you're done using it.

3. Use drawer organizers to get your drawers neat and easy to use.

You should have a supply drawer for pens, pencils, paper clips, stamps and anything else that you use regularly. A drawer bin or organizer will help you keep those drawers organized so that you can easily find what you need within seconds.

4. File your papers the first time you handle them.

Don't let things collect on your desk. Decide where they go the first time you handle them. There should be three options - a project file, the outbox or the round file.

5. End each day by putting away.

At the end of the day, put away everything on your desk so that you come in to a clean desk in the morning. It will make it easy to stay organized, and to start work with a fresh perspective.

Tri-Rail's Green Campaign is Eco-Friendly

If you want to help reduce global warming, let alone air pollution, one of the best things you can do is to get out of your car.

Walk or ride a bicycle for short trips, or take public transportation for longer ones. Either way, you will significantly reduce the amount of pollution and green house you generate each day.

The Rising Environmental Cost of Driving Alone
Transportation accounts for more than 30 percent of U.S. carbon dioxide emissions. According to the American Public Transportation Association (APTA), public transportation in the United States saves approximately 1.4 billion gallons of gasoline and about 1.5 million tons of carbon dioxide annually. Yet only 14 million Americans use public transportation daily while 88 percent of all trips in the United States are made by car—and many of those cars carry only one person.

Added Benefits of Public Transportation
Consider these other benefits of public transportation:

  • Energy independence—According to Treehugger.com, if just one in 10 Americans used public transportation daily, U.S. reliance on foreign oil would decrease 40 percent.
  • Safety—Riding a bus is 79 times safer than riding in an automobile, and riding a train or subway is even safer.
  • Health—Studies have shown that people who use public transportation regularly tend to be healthier than people who don’t, because of the exercise they get walking to and from bus stops, subway stations and their homes and offices.
  • Cost savings—According to an APTA study, families that use public transportation can reduce their household expenses by $6,200 annually, more than the average U.S. household spends on food every year.- Source

Call Center Basics - Office Remix

A call center is a centralized office used for the purpose of transmitting and receiving a large amount of requests by phone. A call center is used by a company to administer incoming product support or information inquiries from consumers. Outgoing calls for telemarketing, clientele, product services, and debt collection are also made. In addition to a call center, collective handling of letters, faxes, live chat, and e-mails at one location is known as a contact center.

A call center is often operated through an extensive open workspace for call center agents, with work stations that include a computer for each agent, a telephone set/headset connected to a telecom switch, and one or more supervisor stations. It can be independently operated or networked with additional centers, often linked to a corporate computer network, including mainframes, microcomputers and LANs. Increasingly, the voice and data pathways into the center are linked through a set of new technologies called computer telephony integration (CTI).

Most major businesses use call centers to interact with their customers. Examples include utility companies, mail order catalogue retailers, and customer support for computer hardware and software. Some businesses even service internal functions through call centers. Examples of this include help desks, retail financial support, and sales support.

Call Centers can be quite expensive. Find an Office Furniture Liquidation company that offers exclusive sales on name-brand office furniture!
