Ticks Pest Control of Broward County

Broward County has recently been infested with tiny pests known as ticks. Ticks are rather small arachnids that live by hematophagy (on the blood of mammals, birds, and occasionally reptiles and amphibians). Ticks are vectors of a number of diseases, including Lyme disease,

During feeding, the tick makes a small incision in the skin of its host and inserts it's mouthparts to remove the blood. Most species cause little or no pain to their hosts at the time o feeding, but some, such as the lone star tick, cause a painful wound. Ticks can transmit diseases by infecting hosts with microorgranisms carried on their mouth parts or in salivary fluids.

Many disorders and diseases can be traced to tick bites, including 1) dermatosis, or inflammation, itching and swelling at the site of the bite; 2) envenomization, or inoculation of toxic fluids; and 3) exsanguination, or anemia resulting from the loss of large amounts of blood because of a severe tick infestation.

The American dog tick is also known to cause paralysis in dogs and children where ticks attach at the base of the skull or along the spinal column. Paralysis is caused by a toxic secretion produced by the feeding tick. When the tick is removed, recovery is rapid, usually within 8 hours. Sensitized animals may become paralyzed by tick attachment anywhere on the body.

Also known as tick typhus, Rocky Mountain spotted fever is caused by a bacteria-like microorganism, Rickettsia rickettsii. Rocky Mountain spotted fever rickettsiae are acquired by an American dog tick when it takes a blood meal from an infected animals. These bacteria are not harmful to most wild and domestic animals, but they are extremely pathogenic to humans and dogs. Rocky Mountain spotted fever is normally a disease of wild animals, but people can be infected while camping or hiking in tick-infested areas if they are bitten by an infected tick. In addition, pets may carry an infected tick into living areas. The disease organisms can also be passed through the egg of an infected tick and from stage to stage in the life cycle. Fortunately, only a small percentage of American dog ticks found in nature are infected.

News Today: Arlene Pecora Hosts Women in Distress Event

Known for it's formal dinner parties, award ceremonies and wedding receptions, the Signature Grand was opened in the late 1990's and has been South Florida's most popular event catering hall since. June's Medicare Educational Conference- DIABCO

ME-First Medical Billing Software

One of the most important parts of the medical industry, aside from the medical services, is the medical billing. The Medical Billing procedure is the act of interaction between a doctor’s office and the insurance company. The process starts when a patient is seen by the doctor. The doctor’s office books the appointment, creates a file (or update an existing file) with the patient’s current medical record. During the appointment, the doctor’s office will give the patient one or more diagnosis and treatments. The patient’s record is updated with this diagnosis and suggested treatment. Once the file is updated, the diagnosis is then translated into a special 5 digit code. (Created from the Current Procedural Terminology)

After the diagnosis and suggested treatments have been documented, the medical biller can now do their part of the job. This person transmits the claim to the payer’s insurance company. Generally, this is done electronically through a special medical billing software. In the past, most medical claims were submitted in a paper form; in the case of professional (non-hospital) services and for most payers the CMS-1500 form or HICF (Health Insurance Claim Form) was (and is still) frequently used.

The patient’s insurance company processes the claim. This is done by paid medical directors that review the claims and evaluate the validity based on the patients policy and the insurance companies guidelines. Once a claim is approved, the healthcare providers are reimbursed. Failed claims are rejected and notice is sent to provider.

If you do want a couple of silhouette shots (which can be very romantic), do the opposite.
  • Make sure pictures are taken throughout the course of the day and evening, as different lighting options will afford different photographic opportunities.
  • While you’ll want some formal posed shots of the bride, groom, and wedding party, the laid-back, relaxed nature of a beach wedding also calls for some fun candid shots. Often, it’s the unplanned photos that best capture the spirit of the event.
  • You never know who will blink during a photo - so be sure to snap triple of the amount of pictures that you expect. You do not need to order all of the photos and can certainly use the extras if you like them!
