Benefits to Art Lessons with Talin Tropic

93% of Americans believe that art classes and lessons are detrimental to giving a well-rounded education to students. (According to a June 2005 Harris Poll) Researchers tell us that getting an early start in the arts can make a real difference in the lives of children. Furthermore, adults can benefit from art as well! Participation in the arts is important. Research shows that the benefits of early arts education extend way beyond providing a creative outlet for children. Arts education can help develop:

  • Imagination
  • Cognitive skills
  • Creative abilities
  • Problem solving
  • Fine motor skills
  • Language
  • Social skills
  • Sense of time and place
  • Focusing
  • Listening
  • Risk taking

Signature Grand Bridal Advice - Hosting a Child Friendly Wedding

If there are small children in your immediate family or you have close friends that do, those children should be incorporated into your wedding in some small way. Having a child friendly wedding is something that takes stress away from the parents and allows the whole family to have a great time.

One way to ensure that kids have a good time is to accept them in the wedding as helpers who can do important tasks. Handing things out, fetching special items for presentation, or announcing important guests as they come at the reception.

Kid friendly weddings also demand a little extra planning when it comes to table settings and menus.

Skip the regular table-cloth and ask your local butcher for a roll of sturdy paper. Giving children Crayons or markers with their place setting will keep them busy for hours and provide your with a great keepsake after they are finished "designing"

Miami Ficus Whitefly Pest Control

South Florida is known for it's tropical weather and lush landscaping. Unfortunately, the recent invasion of the Ficus Whitefly has left the landscaping a little withered. These new pests are attacking ficus trees and hedges in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties, Florida. Known as the Ficus Whitefly, Singhiella simplex, this pest has generated a new US continental record. Whiteflies are small, winged insects that belong to the Order Hemiptera which also includes aphids, scales, mealybugs, and bugs. These insects typically feed on the underside of leaves with their “needle-like” mouthparts. Whiteflies can seriously injure host plants by sucking juices from them causing wilting, yellowing, stunting, leaf drop, or even death.

These pests are extremely small and hard to detect. How do you know if you have a Ficus Whitefly problem? Generally, you will experience withering or even death of your ficus plants as the insects feed off of the juices.

Contact your local pest control agencies to learn how to protect or save your ficus plants and hedges fro the Ficus Whitefly.
