Large images with high graphics create slow download times which turn away visitors and potential sales. Does this mean that you have to compromise your web design? Of course not. All you have to do is strike an easy balance!

Ideally, a web designer could use the highest quality images and have an instant page download. As mentioned earlier, fast page loading requires small file sizes for pictures. Sadly, there is a trade off between picture quality and file size.

Web browsers are known to lack patience when browsing a web site. If a page takes too long to download, then your visitor will most likely leave the site and visit a competitor.

Most computer monitors can only display images at 72dpi (dots per inch). Step one: reduce the image resolution to 72 dpi. Large photos can be cut up into smaller images and the put back together on the actual web page. Each photo piece will be a tiny file and will load in a fraction of the time a single image file would load.

Most graphic files possess critical data regarding the color palette of the image. This information is not usually a necessity for displaying on the web. Many graphic programs included the ability to “Save for the web”. This option removes all of the unnecessary information in the file without any loss of picture quality.

Florida Ocean Alliance Chair David McDonald and Vice Chair Kumar Mahadevan joined Department of Environmental Protection Deputy Secretary for Regulatory Programs and Energy Mike Sole at a press conference to celebrate Oceans Day in Tallahassee last month. Over 50 exhibits were displayed in the Capitol to educate legislators and state agency staff about oceans and coastal issues. This year’s Ocean’s Day theme, “Ocean Partners for Florida’s Future,” saluted the work of the Florida Oceans and Coastal Resource Council, which was created by the 2005 Legislature to help manage the state’s coastal and marine resources and to develop an annual research plan.

The Florida Ocean Alliance is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, public-private partnership of government, academic, and private sector organizations. Formed in 1999, the alliance promotes awareness and understanding of the ocean’s importance to the ecology and economy of Florida.

What is a Favicon? A Favicon (The Favorites Icon) is the little icon that shows up in your bookmarks and in the tab display of most Web browsers. Here is how to create a Favicon

Step 1

Using any graphics program, design an image that is 16 x 16 pixels. Keep in mind that this is extremely tiny, so you might have to give several a try until you find the right one for your site.

Save the image as a BMP or GIF file using 256 colors or less. Icon files, such as Web images, have to appear on computer monitors, so they can't reliably display millions of colors. However, since an icon file is for Windows displays only, it can be 256 colors, rather than the Web standard 216.

Step 2

Once you have designed the right image, you must convert it to the icon format. There are hundreds on the market, so you'll have to do some research or ask a local web designer.

Step 3

Aside from the actual diagnosis, the medical billing procedure is one of the most important aspects of the health care industry. Ensuring the patients pay for their services and doctors receive payment, medical billing is vital - yet time consuming. Until AR-Express was created!

The Medical Billing procedure is the process of interaction between a doctor’s office and the insurance company. This procedure begins when a patient is seen by the a physician. The doctor’s office books the appointment, creates a file (or update an existing file) with the patient’s current medical record. During the appointment, the doctor’s office will give the patient one or more diagnosis and treatments. The patient’s record is updated with this diagnosis and suggested treatment.
