Fleet Management Tips for Fleet GPS Tracking

Your fleet, whether it's 2 vehicles or 100 vehicles, is the most important aspect of your company. This is true, especially if you are in the service or delivery industry. Vehicles, if not maintained or monitored, can cause a company hundreds of thousands of dollars per year. Here are a few fleet management tips which are enhanced by their top of the line Fleet GPS Tracking program:

Safe Drivers: Even the best of drivers can make mistakes while driving – especially if it means getting the job done faster. While most fleet managers check a driving history of their employees, they should also keep an eye on their driver, while they are ON the job. Not only will fleet managers be able to spot problems and make sure they are corrected, the drivers themselves will use a little more caution if they know that they are being monitored.

Enhanced Job Performance: If your company is in the delivery or service industry, you know the importance of getting to the job in a timely fashion. If your drivers are having trouble doing this, fleet GPS tracking programs can help you resolve this quickly. In fact, this is why most employees like the program. Re-routing your fleet if there is an accident ahead is just one of the many features that fleet GPS tracking can offer. Your customers will be happy which will generate more business and revenue for the future.

Vehicle Performance: While many fleet managers are tracking their employees closely, it’s also important to remember that the vehicle performance of your fleet is also being tracked. If your vehicles are maintained properly, so is their life expectancy which saves the company a ton of money in the long run. Gas, oil changes, tire wear and other maintenance can be tracked with fleet GPS tracking programs to ensure that the vehicles are running properly and cost efficiently.

Web Design: Why Are Fonts Important?

Most people look for web design graphics and colors. They don't realize that font is an important aspect of web design. Not only do you want the site to be legible to everybody, you also want it to look professional.  Most web designers get a detailed description about the font sizes and styles while they are extracting the other requirements from the customer. On the other hand, most web designers recommend the Times New Roman font to their clients.

Why Times New Roman?

Over 80% of the major web sites these days use Times New Roman for their text. Times New Roman is professional, legible and clean looking.  Highly stylized fonts are not legible which causes frustration from the visitor.  Your selected font should look like readable text and not a collection of abstract designs. These are the reasons due to which Times New Roman is advised by most web designers. This font style is mostly used for the body text. While Times New Roman is the best solution for your site, you should also keep the size in mind. You don’t want customers squinting while trying to read your information. Many web designers stick with size 12 unless they are creating a title or banner.

Other Font Options

While Times New Roman is the most commonly used, you can always try other options to see if they work well (remember, you’re looking for color, size and legibility of the font).  You can try Arial, Veranda and Courier. All these three fonts are used at a professional level and some web designers recommend them as well. However, they are not as popular and commonly used as Times New Roman.
The font selection also depends on the overall layout of the website and the preference of the client. To portray a professional image, it is better to use one of the text options mentioned above.

#1 Fleet GPS Tracking Program

It’s a common misconception. Many businesses believe that they must have a huge, wideworld shipping company in order to benefit from Fleet GPS Tracking programs. This simply isn’t true. These days, if your fleet consists of even two or three vehicles, you can still help your company by looking into Fleet Tracking solutions.

If your company has at least two or more company vehicles, then you have yourself a fleet. Even the smallest of fleets needs some form of management. This is extremely important if you are in the delivery or service industry.  When drivers utilize their fleet GPS tracking in your vehicles, you can modify and customize delivery routes to better service your customers.

There are two benefits to fleet GPS tracking. The first is that managers can keep an eye on their drivers and deliveries. The second is that drivers benefit with the GPS feature which helps to shorten routes and even re-route deliveries.  For example, if a truck has been sitting idle for too long, you are notified and able to access the situation. Fleet managers have the benefit of knowing where each truck is, at all times of the day or night.

We have discussed simplifying routes and correcting drivers, however something that may not have crossed your mind is safety. Safety issues are a major concern for fleet managers and law enforcement agencies. Fleet GPS tracking is a valuable tool to help keep track of mileage, maintenance, and state regulations for each of your fleet vehicles. The biggest safety benefit? Most insurance companies will lower insurance costs if you are using a Fleet GPS Tracking program.

Driver’s Alert has provided Fleet GPS Tracking programs to huge companies, such as Orkin Pest Control, Vistar Corporation and Scotts Lawn Service.
