Web Design - Appearance is Everything

As I was browsing the web last night, I came across a local employment recruiter's web site. How did I know it was for an employment recruiter?? Certainly not from the web design! I had to triple check the site to be sure I wasn't looking at a web site for pet grooming!

As I was browsing through their site and taking note of the design, it hit me. This is why web design is so important. This local company, trying to find job-less customers was attracting pet owners! Everything was wrong about the design.

• The Color
• The Pages

Web design, in order to attract traffic and viewers, must coordinate with your overall "business direction". This means that if you are selling bridal products, your site should look bridal! Imagine visiting a bridal web site that was black and gloomy. Many viewers would feel confused and most likely not purchase from that site.

The overall design must flow through the entire site. Keep similar colors and fonts throughout the site to maintain a consistent theme.
