It is important that you make sure that you bring your updated resume with your most recent telephone number. Don’t bring just one. You’ll need SEVERAL! There will be several participating local businesses at this job fair, and you never know how many companies are going to catch your eye. If you bring only one resume, you are going to waste the opportunity to apply with several companies at once.
Dress for success. Business attire is appropriate at a job fair as it is, honestly, a big job interview. Wear your suit or dress which will show off your professional side at first glance. Many companies actually conduct the interview on the spot, especially if they see that your resume is good enough to be considered.
Be prepared. Do a little research and investigate the companies that will be at the job fair. If you just hand out your resume to anybody, you will likely be embarrassed if they sit you down for an interview and you don’t know anything about the company. Knowledge gives off a flair of confidence – a necessity in the business world.
Finally, when you are asked to sit down for an interview, be cool and confident. These two qualities are the first things the interview is going to notice about you. If the interviewer sees that you are prepared and answers the questions properly, then you have a big chance of getting hired on the spot.
