Palm Beach Moving Tips by Helping Hands

Moving Tips By Helping Hands

  1. Find local movers two to four weeks prior to your moving day.
  2. Try to designate a box for each room to avoid mixing items.
  3. Utilize wardrobe boxes to make closets easier to pack.
  4. Use only small boxes for books. The weight of books add up.
  5. Don't use printed newsprint to wrap fine china or dishes.
  6. Stack dishes upwards when packing.
  7. Pack important documents separately to be easily accessible.
  8. Movers note: the heavier the item, the smaller the box.
  9. Avoid supermarket boxes. They tend to house critters!
  10. Pre-used boxes tend to be flimsy. Use only new or sturdy boxes.
  11. Never use duct tape – use packing tape.
  12. Clearly label all boxes on top and side.
  13. Always check with your user manuals for your appliances to be sure they don't have special moving needs.
