TravelPro Luggage Outlet's Checked Luggage Advice

There are a few "do's" and "don'ts" that you should pay attention to when traveling. Traveling, whether for business or pleasure, can be a breeze if you follow these guidelines when checking baggage:

DO contact your airline (via phone or online) to double check their luggage policies. Each airline varies. Most have a weight limit or a quantity limit. It's also a good idea to check to see if the company has a luggage tracking service and how to make a claim in the event of damage or loss.

DO invest in luggage labels which can clearly hold your name, address, and phone number. Some frequent travelers recommend that you list your destination as well. Make it a priority to remove any old luggage tags that might cause your luggage to be lost. Colorful, unique tags are also a great way to avoid theft.

DON'T browse the gift shop. Go directly to your baggage claim destination to avoid lost or stolen luggage. It also helps avoid delays in arriving to your final destination.

DO carry necessities such as keys, medicine, computers and computer equipment, important documents including travel documents, and jewelry.

DON'T check damaged or poor quality. This results in lost, stolen or damaged items which will result in a poor time.
